Editing, Leadership, and Team Building
While I have never been in an official Editor position, I enjoy editing my own and others' work. I like offering up my skills and knowledge to help others improve their writing, and hopefully helping them become better writers in the process. As for my own work, I'm very much a self-editor. I still need and appreciate someone else offering suggestions or making edits I might've missed, but I'm the kind of person who does a lot of editing as I go.
Critique Circle - Online Peer Editing
I've recently discovered a website called Critique Circle, where you can post your writing and get feedback from other users, as well as critique other people's work. I use this website for my narrative writing, rather than journalistic. I've critiqued a lot of stories, leaving comments about what was done well/what I liked, suggestions for sentence revisions, grammatical corrections, and any other feedback I have.
