Hi! My name is Lyra Thompson. I’m a 19-year-old journalist and author. I'm a student at Southwest Baptist University, majoring in Media Studies and minoring in Writing and Editing. I’ve already had some things published in both print and online. I’ve done an internship for a local magazine, and I’ve had articles posted on various blogs here and there. My first published piece was when I was 12 years old, but I’ve only been serious about getting published the last couple of years.

 

I mostly write features and opinion pieces, but I'll tell a story about anything. I've written about a wide range of topics, from disability to pop culture to anything I find interesting.
