Hi! My name is Lyra Thompson. I’m a 19-year-old journalist and author. I'm a student at Southwest Baptist University, majoring in Media Studies and minoring in Writing and Editing. My work has been featured several publications, both online and in print.

 

My favorite stories to write are features, whether it's a human-interest piece, highlighting a local place, or reflecting on a topic I'm passionate about. Some of those topics include my Christian faith and the disability community. I believe that everyone has a story to tell, and my job is to discover it and share it with the world.

I also recently published my first book, a novella I co-authored with my best friend! It is the first of hopefully many more, as I always have at least two other works-in-progress.
